Your garden is quite large and wraps around your home. You are welcome to grow plants, flowers and herbs. You have the added benefit of calling the Widenham maintenance team to regularly mow the lawn – a cost included in your monthly levy.

Pet-friendly living

Widenham is a dog-friendly village and you are welcome to have your furry friend take up residence in the estate. Speak to us about our pet-friendly policy and requirements.

Garage

Each home comes with 1 garage, which serves as your personal space to park your car or fill with storage. If you have a second car, our residents usually park the second car in the driveway.

In-home features

At Widenham, we offer a range of modern amenities to enhance your living experience. Our solar geysers harness the power of the sun, ensuring hot water availability even during load shedding. This results in significant electricity savings.

Each unit is equipped with a Widenham VOIP phone, enabling free calls within the estate and to the community centre or clinic, with external calls billed on your monthly account.

Each cottage is wired for DSTV, fibre and wi-fi. The data and internet package is not included in the levy, however, we have negotiated a range of very competitive unlimited packages with our service provider for residents to contract directly and set up on their own accord.

For added security and peace of mind, every home features a panic button, ensuring that help is just minutes away in case of emergency.

The onsite clinic

The clinic is available for all our residents to pop in and see the onsite nurses. There is also a practicing GP available for consultations. You can easily keep track of your blood pressure or your sugar levels. Our friendly staff are here to support you. Our residents have also formed special care groups to assist in caring for neighbours where they can.

Life Rights model explained

Widenham operates strictly on the Life Rights model. Life Rights is simple and straightforward. You pay for the value of the home and receive the legal right to live in the property for the duration of your lifetime. It is a hassle-free property purchasing option that has proven highly successful for those 60 and over.

Your monthly levy

As part of the Hibiscus Group model, Widenham collects a monthly levy from residents that includes but is not limited to: rates, water and sanitation, property or building insurance, garden services, bus services, communal area upkeep, house and structure maintenance, bank charges, audit fees, and staff salaries and communal electricity consumption.

Electricity and telephone charges are levied separately based on your actual usage.
